Boots has now repaired everything in the hangar, and is co-ordinating the work of his clones from there. Foxee sees the shuttle is fixed.
The 'Planetary Unusual Fluff Finder' works by redirecting gravitons - so it is nippy near to planets, but useless in interstellar space.

Whereas the Shuttle can go anywhere, because it is powered by liquid potassium. Usually this comes from the reproducicator.
The 'reproducicator' was given (and named) by a President, and has a mind of its own, but must be recharged near to yellow suns.

Liquid potassium is running low. 'Boots' would use the reproducicator to make some, but it is low on power after fixing everything else.
'Boots' is an Engineer. He knows just what can and cannot be done, and exactly how to do it.

Doctor Foxee is a scientist. He can find ways to do the impossible, but should not be allowed out with a pair of toenail clippers.
Foxee already scanned the skies; the nearest yellow sun is out of Shuttle range. So the 'Sylvester' must be fixed, or they're stranded.

Foxee has full confidence in 'Boots'to fix the 'Sylvester', so he sets out cheerily.
Foxee now has time for a thorough investigation of what just has to be Doctor Strangefluff's tiny space station.

Doctor Strangefluff's main computer seems to have no interface but the symbols on the screen.
Foxee finds that the system shows pictures which imply commands, but to crack the codes would take longer than the age of the universe.
