Magical Harry was a kind old man,
who gave small children sweets whenever asked,
and saw in little faces joy unmasked -
their parents knew the reason for his plan.
I asked my mother, why old Harry gave;
she told me that his doctor sadly said
to cease from eating sugar, else be dead,
a diabetic early in the grave.
So sickness scarred the man that we adored -
and yet he made reply as best he could;
if he could not have pleasure, others should -
and little ones' delight was his reward.
Magical Harry gave away pure joy,
and loved to see each happy girl and boy.
